Snag a New ‘Do for a Good Cause

April 26, 2012

This weekend Be Inspired Salon is offering something more than just great hairdos: The chance to get a haircut to support a worthy cause. Stop in this Sunday, April 29, for their event “Chelsea’s Hope Charity Cut-A-Thon,” and money raised during the event will benefit breast cancer research and more at the UW Carbone Cancer Center.

Chelsea Harris, a local breast cancer survivor helping raise funds for UW Carbone Cancer Center

It’s an event that Katie Corbett, owner of Be Inspired Salon, says is close to her heart and was inspired by one of her clients, Chelsea. Already an avid fundraiser for breast cancer research, because many of her friends and family had been affected, Chelsea herself was diagnosed with breast cancer. Today, both Chelsea and her mother are survivors of the disease who are standing up to help others by supporting UW Carbone Cancer Center and the research and treatments it provides.

Get a fresh new ‘do or maybe just a quick trim, and bring your friends and family! No matter how much you cut, 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the UW Carbone Cancer Center. Snack and refreshments will be provided by Yola’s Cafe.

Time: Sunday, April 29, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. (no appointments necessary, all ages welcome)
Location:  425 S. Yellowstone Dr., Madison; beinspiredsalon.com
Cost: $25 minimum donation per haircut
