Scarf-tying 101
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I love scarves. They might even be my favorite accessory.
In fact, I’m often asked how to tie them. So ladies (and a few good men), it’s high time that I obliged. Below you’ll find two great ways to tie your scarves this season—for more great ways to accessorize, be sure to check out our October fashion spread. Thanks to our fashion intern, Chelsea, for her fabulous modeling skills!
Option 1: For every-day scarves, either at work or play.

Start with a long rectangle scarf, and fold it in half.

Place the halved scarf around your neck.

Insert one of the loose ends through the loop on the other end.

Then twist the loop.

Pull the other loose end through the new loop.

Voila! You look fabulous!
Option 2: Perfect over a little black dress for a night on the town.

Start with a wide, rectangle pashmina.

Wrap it around your shoulders.

Pinch the center of each side of the pashmina, right at chest level.

Tie the two pinched pieces together.

Tie them again in a double knot.

Finally, move the knot to your shoulder and there you have it—elegant for a night out!

your demonstration is so excellent. I too have so many scarves of different lengths, but do not know how to wear them well. if you have any more suggestions or a book you can recommend, I certainly would appreciate it.
Once again, excellent site.
